What is the EFR CPR and AED Course
This very practical course will enable students to use an AED competently and with confidence. Not only does this course cover the use of AEDs but also includes vital training in cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and choking procedures. It covers Adult, Child & Infant techniques. Our courses concentrate on providing you with the confidence and willingness to ‘have a go’ with lots of hands on practise time.
Importance of CPR and AED Training
CPR can double or triple a victim’s chance of survival, and more that 85 percent of cardiac arrests occur at home – not a hospital. Many victims do not have a history of heart disease and appear healthy however, fewer than eight percent of those who suffer a cardiac arrest survive.
Being able to provide appropriate care quickly in an emergency situation can improve patient outcome, reduce recovery time and reduce the chance of them from having a temporary or long term disability. As a bystander you benefit from learning how to remain calm and make informed decisions in an emergency situation.
Duration
The EFR CPR & AED Course lasts for a minimum of three hours and consists of theoretical and practical work. A CPR & AED attendance certificate will be issued to all successful candidates.
Assessment
Assessment is ongoing by the instructor in respect of the student’s practical ability, along with a multiple choice question paper.

If the date(s) we have scheduled are not convenient then contact us to discuss your availability, and we will see what we can arrange for you. Have a group of four or more, then please contact us to arrange a closed course for you, on dates that are mutually convenient.
What is Involved in the CPR & AED Course
Welcome to the CPR & AED course, where you will learn essential life-saving skills that can make a difference in critical situations. Our course is regulated and designed to meet the latest Resuscitation Council guidelines, ensuring that you receive the most up-to-date information and techniques. You will receive a high-quality course manual to supplement your learning, as well as a certificate and certification card upon successful completion of the course. To help you stay prepared, you will also receive a vinyl keyring holder containing barriers such as gloves and a faceguard.
Our courses are held in small groups, with a maximum class size of 4, for an optimal learning experience. We offer both open courses, allowing individuals to sign up, and private courses for groups. Upon completion of the course you will have the knowledge and skills to confidently respond to cardiac arrest emergencies, and perform CPR and use an AED. Your qualification will be valid for 2 years, at which point you can renew your certification to continue your life-saving education.
