All higher risk workplaces that have identified a need for comprehensive first aid e.g. light engineering and assembly work, food processing, warehousing, extensive work with dangerous machinery or sharp instruments, construction, chemical manufacture. Your risk assessment will highlight which course is suitable for your business. This regulated First Aid at Work course is designed for individuals who work within a commercial environment and have not previously completed a full First Aid at Work course.
The First Aid at Work course (initial 3 day program) by Rutland First Aid Training is designed for individuals who require training in basic first aid skills for the workplace. Duration
The EFR First Aid At Work Initial lasts for a minimum of three days and made up of units consisting of theoretical and practical work.
Assessment
Throughout the course you will be continually monitored and assessed, along with a multiple choice question paper on the final afternoon.

During the First Aid at Work course, participants will gain knowledge and skills in key areas of first aid. This includes scene assessment, barrier use, primary assessment, CPR techniques (chest compressions and rescue breathing), management of serious bleeding, shock and spinal injuries, and conscious choking in adults. Participants will also receive orientation to automated external defibrillators and learn how to assess injuries related to temperature, eye injuries, and poisoning.
The course also covers the role of first aid in the workplace and reviews health and safety regulations such as RIDOR and COSH. To reinforce learning, participants will work through a number of Primary and Secondary Scenarios, allowing them to apply their knowledge and skills in realistic emergency situations.
